Privacy policy
Short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and you can leave the newsletter any time.
Browsing the site
We count visits with our own simple analytics: which pages are viewed, which site sent you, and clicks out to event pages and tickets. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party trackers, and we don't store your IP address. To count unique visitors we use a code that changes every day, so nobody can be followed from one day to the next. If you tap "Use my location" to sort events by distance, your location stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
The Spokane Week newsletter
If you subscribe we keep your email address, the interests you pick, when you signed up, and your giveaway entries. Our email service, Brevo, sends the newsletter and tells us which emails are opened and which links are clicked, so we can make it better. Every email has a link to change your interests or unsubscribe, and unsubscribing stops all newsletter emails.
The monthly giveaway
Subscribers are entered automatically. If you share your personal link, we count the friends who subscribe through it. Winners are contacted by email, and we may show a masked version of the winner's email (for example, j•••@gmail.com). See the official rules.
Forms you send us
When you submit an event, report a problem, send a business photo, ask about sponsoring, or offer a giveaway, we receive what you type (and any photo) by email and in our site host's form storage, and use it only to answer you and keep listings accurate.
Sponsors and payments
Sponsor purchases are handled by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers. We keep the buyer's email and the content they submit to run their sponsorship. Submitted sponsor text and photos are checked automatically by an AI service (Anthropic) to keep the site appropriate for all ages before they go live.
Who helps us run the site
Netlify (hosting and forms), Brevo (email), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (sponsor content checks) and Buffer (posting to Instagram, which uses no visitor data). Links to maps, tickets and event pages take you to other sites with their own privacy policies.
What we never do
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with advertisers. Sponsors don't get subscriber lists.
Kids
The site is a general events guide and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from any newsletter email, or email hello@spokanetodo.com to see, correct or delete what we have about you.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date below. Last updated October 2026.
